Jérôme Bressy is an endearing craftsman, a sensitive perfectionist, in perpetual search of quality. Each vintage is an opportunity to go farther, to approach the ideal that he has set for himself. His wines are the strict opposite of those formatted and prefabricated by technology. He has impressed us with his enthusiastic faith, his expertise and this contagious passion. His eyes sparkle at the mention of the great Châteauneuf-du-Papes from which he finds inspiration, without ever attempting to produce pale copies. Convinced that 80% of the work of a great wine is done in the vineyard, in 2008 he embarked upon a path of biodynamic winemaking. His yields are miniscule compared to some other producers, staying around 12-15 hl/ha! (and yes, that’s very low!). This choice is meant to obtain the quintessence of each plot which will then be brought together to create great white or red wine. In 2012, Jérôme decided to leave the appellation Rasteau, to freely express, with traditional native grape varieties not imposed by the authorities, the typical expression of his terroir.
