Heir to a line of winemakers going back to to the XVIIIth century, Charles Ballot operates a beautiful family property and a well-known collection of crus from the Cote de Beaune. Talented and hardworking he is one of the rare young winemakers who, when the time comes, will be inseparable from the Burgundy landscape and grand wines. Surprising year after year, he hones great vintages such as Meursault 1er Cru Genévrières and Perrières. Nonetheless, the more modest wines are not left behind such as the joyous Bourgogne Chardonnay with its freshness and gourmet characteristics at a reasonable price. A fine winemaker of whites, Charles is also active in the production of reds. To be convinced, it suffices to let yourself be charmed by his superb Volnay 1er Cru and Pommard 1er Cru. All the wines of this class (and what class!) are precise, clean and possess a devastating charm, faithful to their grand pedigree.
